UPDATE FROM THE UTE TRIBE SENIOR’S PROGRAM

- Ute Tribe Senior Grant Meals & Grant Transportations for 2019-2020:

The Ute Senior Center meal service is a regular nutritional meal program that is beneficial for tribal member’s ages 55 years old & over whom live within the service area. Meal service is from 11:30 am, to 12:30 pm. Monday thru Thursday, except holidays or tribal events.

All Transportation has to be scheduled in advance with a correct cell or contact number.

- Ute Tribe /Senior Caregiver Support for 2019-2020:

We will be offering classes or events in coordination with other tribal programs. Respite care for tribal seniors during these times at the Ute Senior Center from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Thursday.

*REMINDER: The Ute Senior WINTER HEATING program applications or available for October 2019 to February 29, 2020.

BUILDING REHAB

Now that winter is here a quick reminder: Do not plug heaters into safety power strips. This can cause a fire due to the load a space heater uses. Plug directly into a floor outlet. Space heaters and power strips are the #1 fire starters during the winter months.

 

UTE TRIBE PROSECUTION

Basic Law Class Schedule:

- January 7, 2020. Randlett/Ouray Community – Pres. Chris Tabbee & Clarinda Jenks.

- February 4, 2020. Indian Bench/Lapoint Community – Pres. Sapieneze LaRose & Donna Ignacio.

- March 3, 2020. Richardson Subdivision Community – Pres. Kay Santio.

Class is set every first Tuesday of the month @ 5:00 pm, unless rescheduled. Also will be a potluck with drinks & dessert provided.

 

UTE MOTHERS AGAINST METH ALLIANCE

Ute MAMA needs a logo. They are seeking submissions from local artist to develop a logo that will reflect what the organizations stands for. A $300 donation will be awarded to the winner. Local artists 16 years & older may participate. Deadline for submissions is January 6, 2020. The winner will be announced January 20, 2020. Logos applications should be submitted to: Debra Jones, Ute Tribe Housing Department (435) 725-7089 & Maxine Redfoot (Dixie), Ute Family Service (435) 725-4054. Give these ladies a call for any questions.

 

UTE LANGUAGE

- Ute Language Class’s will be held every Tuesdays at the Whiterocks Community Bldg. 5 p.m.

                                           Indian Mineral Owner Question Session

Will be at the Ute Crossing Grill on January 15th from 9am to 12 noon. Please bring any documents you would like to discuss.
